DAVID J. STIEVE - Bio/Credentials

Originally from West Bend, Wisconsin, David earned a Bachelor's Degree in English from the University of Wisconsin, graduating with honors from the school's Creative Writing program. After serving as Deputy Editor of The Madison Review, UW's nationally renowned literary journal, David redirected his classical narrative storytelling training to the new canvas of screen-writing, and moved to Los Angeles in 1999 to further pursue the craft. He has since written a number of original screenplays, including the award-winning horror satire BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON, directed by Scott Glosserman. The film was released in US theaters in March of 2007, and is now available on DVD. Horror Movies.CA just named the film its #2 Most Influential Horror Film of the Past Ten Years, just behind the Blair Witch Project, and Best Horror Movies.com named it #70 on its updated 2009 Top 100 Horror Films of All Time.
